And now for something a little different!
For the rest of February, we're going to do Fanon/theory discussions on Friday. Regular fic rec Friday posts will return in March!
This week's subject:
The Murphy
What are your favorite fanon theories for him?
Just what is he?
Why does he change colors?

Date: 2023-02-17 02:23 pm (UTC)ooh I like this theory. Like. He changes color because of his immune system and how the zombie virus itself keeps mutating.

Date: 2023-02-19 12:39 pm (UTC)My biggest Murphy theory is that he cares a lot more than he lets on - which is more or less canon, but still fun to play around with.

Date: 2023-02-19 02:23 pm (UTC)I was thinking that too. He wants to not care, and sometimes he doesn't, but he still does.

Date: 2023-02-16 10:23 pm (UTC)My fanon head-canon post series is he gonna go villain again. Crave the brain like zombie lore lol. I'm not big on fanon making him caring bout 10k, they really worked better as hated rivals imo.
I don't think Murphy was a horrible person, and becoming zombied didn't change his personality, but at his core is a selfishness that is only mildly over-ridden by his desire to have someone respect or care about him. I wonder what his relationships were like with family, friends, or loved ones before APOC or even prison?
I think he color changes because maybe the serum interaction hits. More grey and blue the more it overtakes his system to keep him undead and functional. Then patchy when he starts getting alived or feeds. And red for the new chemical interaction. Don't know.
